VP R&D Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Research and Development to lead the next phase of product evolution. With a vision to consistently enhance our existing technologies, develop future generations, and expand into new applications, this is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
• Spearhead product development, improving current designs and creating next-gen solutions in complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing to translate customer and market needs into engineering objectives.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams in software, electrical hardware, and mechanical engineering.
• Implement formal project management systems, utilizing tools like Gantt charts and project dashboards.
• Lead design reviews, oversee risk management activities (FMEA, Hazard Analysis), and ensure design for reliability and manufacturability.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant local and national regulations, including FDA, MDR, and ISO standards.
• Set and achieve strategic objectives and manage the annual budget for the R&D department.
What We’re Looking For:
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in developing and commercializing complex electro-mechanical systems.
• Experience managing international project teams and working across national borders.
• Knowledge of FDA 21 CFR 820, MDR, and ISO 13485 regulations.
• Strong understanding of SCI (Spinal Cord Injury) technologies or the ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent project management skills with formal training and the ability to work autonomously.
• Willingness to travel and dedicate the time needed to see projects through to success.

Educational Requirements:
• BS in Engineering required (MS preferred)
